本杰明格雷厄姆八十岁生日爬梯上对儿孙们做了个演讲，演讲最后以这一段诗作结尾。这首诗是写老年的，不过我看了后觉得很受激励，就抄录下来以作自勉：

* m3 z2 q& x4 Z# u: Q'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
2 m, e  e$ J/ D, i
  p; y& p2 k( f& B: |; n3 }$ F. ZPush off, and sitting well in order smite
4 P. B5 J, o4 D1 U
  o" J& |$ u; [The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
5 g5 a, d6 D* z5 T- T! b' F
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
& x7 ]& b* I, W; S' n7 Y
5 Y! L8 n1 b; x$ LOf all the western stars，until I die.

It may be that the gulfs will wash us down;

It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,
