[读书笔记] 丁尼生 《尤利西斯》 节选

本杰明格雷厄姆八十岁生日爬梯上对儿孙们做了个演讲,演讲最后以这一段诗作结尾。这首诗是写老年的,不过我看了后觉得很受激励,就抄录下来以作自勉:4 Z- u4 \* N  Y0 c1 i

Push off, and sitting well in order smite

# H3 D' ~( X7 _3 s) bThe sounding furrows; for my purpose holds+ T* ~! Y+ c6 h
+ {; k1 m3 V# R. t4 t# \
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
7 j, J" Q0 `' q( U& K1 {: ~. l# O: J - K7 g8 ?/ ^) d7 t. L
Of all the western stars,until I die.2 s4 U, o- k1 g; ?" i+ a5 e

It may be that the gulfs will wash us down;5 m4 K& t+ L5 C5 `1 f6 H

And see the great Achilles, whom we knew.

Though much is taken, much abides; and though

Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are
