本杰明格雷厄姆八十岁生日爬梯上对儿孙们做了个演讲，演讲最后以这一段诗作结尾。这首诗是写老年的，不过我看了后觉得很受激励，就抄录下来以作自勉：

( p$ A# \) ^  I7 C'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
! f' Z) A: C& g7 Y2 w: {8 h
Push off, and sitting well in order smite
4 _* X* y* R6 d; s
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
* I5 ?* p& X( A$ k, E
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
* Y- q/ T- G- `) c% s7 B, x1 i% Z  G7 f
Of all the western stars，until I die.

It may be that the gulfs will wash us down;
6 q1 U: ?, p& @+ t2 ^( @/ I
3 k8 t% y/ K7 i; mIt may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,
