今天是父亲节，妹妹和小不点儿做饭，我就去店里，买了八瓶葡萄酒，是北加州湖县的香农山葡萄酒厂(Shannon Ridge Family of Wines)在2016年新推出的Buck Shack（鹿店）系列，有长瓶和短瓶两种包装，长瓶的便宜一些，常规包装，大众口味，短瓶的口味与众不同。在酒厂购买的话，都是35块钱一瓶，可是在父亲节这个星期商店促销，短瓶每瓶23块钱，买一送一，长瓶每瓶20块钱，也买一送一。
- "We thought aging our Cabernet Sauvignon in bourbon barrels was a perfect fit for our Buck Shack brand," said Clay Shannon, owner of Shannon Ridge Family of Wines. "The Buck Shack is a 100-year-old deer-skinning shed, discovered on our property when we were clearing land for a vineyard. We restored it and converted it into a whiskey bar on our property we call Sheep Camp." Aging Cabernet Sauvignon in bourbon barrels shows off the natural ripe fruits while softening the tannins and adding an aged balance to the wine. Each sip resonates with rich hints of bourbon.
经常喝美国葡萄酒的人都知道，圈内流传的两个说法，第一，质量上乘的葡萄酒，含酒精的度数要超过13.5%以上。第二，质量上佳的葡萄酒的玻璃瓶底，都要深深的凹进去。瓶底凹进去的越深，质量上就越有保障。这两个传说，在长瓶包装的鹿店系列的葡萄酒上都有体现。2019年出产的葡萄酒的酒精含量是14.5%，而2018年出产的葡萄酒的酒精含量，更高达17.1%！
商店里有一对夫妇，大概是一对酒鬼，看我在买酒，也过来买，而且买的更多，把柜台一扫而空。
香农山酒厂是酒业中的小字辈，1995年才开业，可是在短短的27年的时间内，酒厂拥有的种植葡萄园的农场面积，就从无到有，扩大到了3000多英亩。酒厂的广告词中，特意用了“Ye Old”（又称Ye Olde）这个洋泾滨英语和“Genuine/Bonafide”(货真价实)，取的是复古或者怀旧的意思，谁相信谁上当，真正的东西，没有那么老。

- 我的理解是这些矮瓶的葡萄酒用的是生产美国威士忌的生产工艺，在新的生产威士忌的橡木桶里，存放超过12个月以上的时间，所以价钱就更贵一些。
togo: 有意思。矮瓶的葡萄酒都有一个小牌子 “Aged in Bourbon Barrels”。是不是这些酒在装过烈酒的木桶里存放过一段时间。 ...

Starting with varieties that grow best in Lake County, we created this Red Blend consisting of 36% Petite Sirah, 35% Syrah, 12% Merlot, 10% Barbera, and 7% Cab Franc. We racked it into freshly emptied bourbon barrels for three months and the result, pretty amazeballs."

- 您是对的。谢谢指正。矮瓶系列葡萄酒的生产工艺耗时18个月，前15个月是用传统的橡树桶酿造，后三个月用新腾空了的威士忌酒桶浸泡，也解释了为什么酒精度数会高达17.1%。

Grown in Lake County, the 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was first aged in traditional French and American oak barrels for 15 months, followed by 3 months in freshly emptied, or 'wet' Kentucky Bourbon barrels. The wine was then bottled in a clear Bourbon/Whiskey bottle and sealed with a custom made cork.
