说走就走，可是上路之前，功课还是要做足了。蓝岭公路（Blue Ridge Parkway），是以前公干的时候从黑堡到DC的时候走过一段，当时有个弗吉尼亚的朋友，是个吉他手，在业余的时间带了个乐队自己录制唱片，经常在这一带周末的时光巡回演唱，有很多激动人心的故事，也有一个同事退休之后做的第一件事情，就是花了足足半年的功夫，全程徒步走完包括蓝岭公路在内的从缅因州到佛罗里达的阿巴拉契亚山脉的全部。所以就一直的想开车走个蓝岭公路全程而没有机会。

蓝岭公路北接弗吉尼亚州的仙南渡国家公园，南达北卡罗莱纳州的大烟山国家公园，全长469迈，是在美国经济大萧条时期国际投资修建的，也是美国东部最著名的景观公路，特别适合秋季观赏红叶，冬天的时候一些景点可能因为天气原因会停止营业。

The Blue Ridge Parkway is more than a road – it’s a beautiful journey that entices visitors to explore a 469-mile gateway to America’s rich cultural heritage including Cherokee traditions, music, crafts, agriculture and nature.

Along the Parkway, you will observe numbered Mileposts. Spaced a mile apart, they help chart your progress when looking for an Access Point or Point of Interest. The zero Milepost marker is in Virginia at Rockfish Gap, immediately south of Shenandoah National Park, and each mile is numbered progressively southward on the Parkway to its endpoint in Cherokee, NC at Milepost 469.

从去开始蓝岭公路有两段公路桥在抢修，车辆需要绕行，一段是在弗吉尼亚州境内114.7里程到135.9里程之间，绕行17.1迈，费时28分钟。一段是在北卡境内的 316.5至317.5里程之间，车辆要绕行。网页上有工程进度的更新和警告，还有疫情期间的一些特别注意事项，以及在那个入口切入，在那个地方加油，在那个地方落脚，上路之前都需要仔细看一看，免得耽搁了行程和赶脚。

Roanoke River Bridge Repairs - Repairs on the Roanoke River Bridge at Milepost 114.7 are scheduled to occur from May 16, 2021 to spring 2022. This project includes concrete repairs to bridge piers, reconstruction and drainage repairs to approach areas, removal of existing asphalt surface and waterproofing membrane, installation of new waterproofing membrane and asphalt surface, and repainting of the steel super structure of the bridge. Repairs will require a full closure of this area (no access to motorists, cyclists or pedestrians); southbound drivers will need to detour at Milepost 112.2 (VA Route 24) in Vinton, VA and take US 221 through Roanoke to Adney Gap at Milepost 135.9.

Linville River Bridge Repairs - The section of the Blue Ridge Parkway from Milepost 316.5 to Milepost 317.5 is closed for a rehabilitation project at the historic Linville River Bridge. Detour signs will be in place to direct travelers around this area beginning at Milepost 312.5, routing park visitors around the project site via NC Route 181 and US Route 221. Access to Linville Falls visitor center, camping, and hiking activities will be available from the north at NC Route 181, near Pineola.
